A short film about one woman's solo journey across the Pacific Ocean aboard her 34' sailboat, Haunani

Without any offshore experience to speak of, Margie Woods set sail alone across the Pacific Ocean on July 2, 2016 with her video camera and journal with the hope of learning more about herself. This film is a result of her excavations and documentation of her raw experience.

the journey

Margie was the only woman out of 23 skippers in the 2016 Singlehanded Transpacific Yacht Race from San Francisco to Hanalei, HI. She set sail with the goal of arriving safely and not finishing last. She accomplished both, finishing in 17 days, and plans to do it again one day.
